Recently I was blessed with the opportunity to explore the Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario, Canada. Being a resident of Los Angeles, I never experience cold weather anymore and even when I resided in South Carolina, the weather never reached below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. So when it was time to pack for this trip I was kind of clueless and I had to start with the basics.

As you all know, I love to be stylish, but comfort is also important to me as well. I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed to make this trip a success and be able to adapt to the new climate without being uncomfortable. I created this list for anyone who is planning an adventure to the mountains to take advantage of the slopes or just to enjoy the beauty of the snow.

Here’s what you’ll need to slay the slopes and survive while doing it:

-Snow Suit (jumpsuit or pants & jacket)

-Base Layer/ Thermals (top & bottom)

-Ski Goggles

-Hats

-Gloves (waterproof/insulated)

-Scarves

-Face Mask

-Insulated Jacket

-Fleece

-Snow Socks

-Snow Boots (insulated/ anti slip; not the cute ones from Forever 21 or Nordy’s)

If this is your first ski trip, you don’t have to bring your own ski equipment. If you are going to a resort, there will be equipment available for you to rent for the day. This is sure to save your coin, especially if you aren’t planning to make a hobby out of it.

You are sure to have a blast skiing however, I’m sure they’ll be other things you will want to do like party, shop, eat and swim or relax in the hot tubs. So be sure to pack items for downtime as well. I would recommend bathing suits, sweaters, jeans and dresses; if you plan on partying. When it was time for us to party, I wore my insulated snow boots outside and changed into my heels once I arrived at my destination to prevent slipping and breaking my neck on the icy grounds. I also bundled up with my snow jacket and pants and checked them at coat check so I wouldn’t have to carry them around.

Please make sure all of your items are waterproof, because if they aren’t then once the snow melts they’ll be cold, wet & pretty much useless.

Quick Tip: When it’s time to pack, lay all of your items out on your bed to make sure you have everything. I would hate for you to get to the mountains and realize you forgot to pack your gloves or socks. When it came to space, also found it helpful to roll all of my items instead of folding them, especially since most of them were thick and insulated.

I made it easy for you to find all of the proper items you’ll need by curating this list on my Amazon store. I picked out some of the cutest gear that are sure to have you heating things up on the slopes!
